Huckabee: Trump's 'Big Boot' Message in Asia Is for Would-Be Adversaries As Well

As Virginians head to the polls today to pick their next governor, GOP candidate Ed Gillespie said he is confident from the excitement he has seen in his supporters.

"I can tell you from the momentum and the intensity and the enthusiasm I have seen over the course of the past two weeks in particular, Brian, I honestly believe we're going to win this race today," Gillespie told host Brian Kilmeade on "Fox & Friends" Tuesday.

President Trump tweeted his support for Gillespie from his Asia trip, saying the Republican will be strong on crime and the economy.

The GOP candidate has run his campaign largely on the promise of economic improvement, saying Virginia should really be "number one in economic growth of all the states."

"I truly believe that. And I've got a plan to get us there," he said, explaining that his plan should increase job creation 25 percent.

Gillespie is focusing also on improving schools and the transportation system to "make sure we can get home in time to have dinner with our family."

This election is not just about the next 4 years but about the next 30, he said.
