Ainsley Earhardt sat down with Eric and Lara Trump to discuss a wide variety of issues, including the controversy over President Donald Trump's call to a Gold Star widow.

Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) claimed Tuesday that Trump told the widow of Army Sgt. La David Johnson during a phone call that "he knew what he signed up for."

Johnson was among four service members killed earlier this month during an ambush in Niger.

"I think it's disgusting," Eric Trump said. "It shows the absolute worst of politics."

He said his father was calling a grieving widow to give his condolences on behalf of a grateful nation, and it was politicized.

Lara Trump said she's read the transcripts of the phone call, and it's clearly a case of media bias against the president.

"He said, 'Your husband went into battle knowing that he could be injured, knowing that he could be killed, and he still did it because he loves this country and he did it for the American people,'" she said. "I can't think of a way, quite frankly, to express my gratitude to someone than by saying something like that."

She said the president is the biggest champion of the military and the brave men and women who serve our country, and it's simply wrong for Wilson or the media to suggest otherwise.
