Judge Jeanine Pirro is the host of Justice with Judge Jeanine - airing Saturdays at 9pm ET. The show, which includes the judge's weekly Opening Statement, is appointment television for Fox News viewers.

Fox News Insider caught up with Judge Jeanine (not an easy thing to do!) to find out some fun facts that her fans may not know about her.

1. The Pirro Pigs

Not only is Judge Jeanine a dog lover, but did you know about her pet pigs?

The pigs - inspired by the book "Charlotte's Web" - were welcomed into the family years ago when her children asked for their very own Wilbur.

"I said, 'Why not?' So we had pigs for many, many years. There was a pig house and a pig pool. My kids' classes would come and visit the pigs," she said, describing them as "extremely clean" and very smart animals.

She said when one died, the other pig stayed in his house for a month.

On "Justice," Judge Jeanine recently announced the sad news that her dog Mikimoto, a 13-year-old standard poodle, had passed away unexpectedly.

She also brought her other sweet pup, Sir Lancelot, on the show.

2. What She's Watching

Other than Fox News Channel (of course), Judge Jeanine loves to binge-watch her favorite shows, especially when she's traveling.

Two of her favorites are "Homeland" and "House of Cards," but - to our surprise - she said she's not into the courtroom and investigative dramas.

3. Courtroom Cameo!

Fans of "Law & Order: SVU" may have noticed a familiar face on the bench in a 2016 episode...

Check it out below.

4. From Trailblazer to Television

Judge Pirro was the first female district attorney of Westchester County, New York, serving 12 years before moving to TV. She starred in a nationally-syndicated reality courtroom show called "Judge Jeanine Pirro," for which she won an Emmy in 2011.

"It was great. I lived in Chicago for three years. I loved it," she said, explaining she always viewed TV as a "natural fit" after leaving public service.

"I never wanted to do it, because I loved what I did as D.A. I was doing the real thing. ...  I had many offers before I made the decision to retire from law enforcement," she said, recalling that she started in TV by providing legal analysis during the O.J. Simpson murder trial.

Judge Pirro was also the first female judge in Westchester County, the first woman to prosecute a murder case in county history and started the first domestic violence unit there in 1978.

5. Workout Warrior

Judge Jeanine is always on the go - traveling regularly for her show and to give speeches – but she always makes time for a workout.

"I'm a workout fanatic," she said, explaining that she loved to run before knee problems forced her to stop.

"I can't do it anymore. It makes me crazy," she said, so now she focuses on Soul Cycle and spinning at least three times a week.

Don't miss "Justice," Saturday nights at 9pm ET on Fox News Channel. Plus, keep up with Judge Jeanine on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram - she's always sharing behind-the-scenes pics!
