Las Vegas Concertgoer: 'It Was Like Fish in a Barrel'
Russell Bleck was at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas when a gunman opened fire from a room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.
At least 50 people were killed and more than 400 others were injured before authorities were able to kill the suspect, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock.
Bleck said he was in the VIP tent at the venue when gunshots rang out.
"When you have that many tens of thousands of people clustered, it was like fish in a barrel," he said on "Fox & Friends."
"It went from semi-automatic to fully automatic, and it was just, like, relentless," the witness said. "It just would not stop."
He said he hit the ground and then scrambled to safety under nearby bleachers as the gunman fired off hundreds of rounds.
"I've been around guns my entire life, and I've never heard of something like this even happening," Bleck said.
He said that the shooting would stop for approximately ten seconds at a time as the gunman reloaded, and he would use those pauses to move and take cover.
"We were pretty much in a kill box," Bleck said, explaining that there were ten-foot-tall walls surrounding his position, which left only one way in or out.
