Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway said a simpler tax code will support the middle class, who cannot afford to pay accountants to help navigate it.

"The vision is to make it simpler," Conway said on "Fox & Friends" Wednesday.

The former Trump campaign manager explained that the code currently favors the wealthy, who can hire attorneys and accountants to help them navigate and take advantage of exemptions, deductions, credits.

President Trump's goals include reducing tax rates for the middle class and slashing taxes on businesses in an effort to encourage them to stay in the country.

"This is not just a tax bill. It's a jobs bill," Conway stated.

"Most of the country think of themselves as middle class," Conway pointed out. "Citizens deserve a tax cut in every state."
