Tucker Carlson offered a monologue on DACA and illegal immigration, and debated New York State's first undocumented attorney on the matter.

Carlson said that, while DACA gives work permits to people who came illegally to the United States as children, less attention is paid to the plight of real Americans who die from drug overdoses or are on disability.

He said that some Republicans, like Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, are strongly in favor of keeping DACA in a "conservative" way - by giving a pathway to citizenship to many who come illegally and break no further serious laws.

Carlson said that people like Tillis and Rep. Mike Coffman (R-Colo.) show "more affinity for President Obama's policies" than President Trump's.

Attorney Cesar Vargas, the first illegal immigrant to become a licensed attorney in the Empire State, said that DACA recipients are "earning an opportunity to be in this country."

"If we give amnesty to these people Obama gave amnesty to, when does that stop, or do we owe citizenship to anyone under 18 who makes it into this country?" Carlson asked.

He said Vargas suggested that Americans don't have a right to say who comes into their land.

"Tell President Trump, who has hired undocumented workers at his golf courses," Vargas said.

Carlson said that criticisms of businessman-Trump prove his point, that employers and special interests want DACA-type programs but the populace does not.

"You're making an emotional appeal," Carlson said, asking for a "serious" discussion on the matter, sans feelings.
