As Hurricane Harvey approaches Texas, Dagen McDowell is warning President Donald Trump that now is not the time to talk or tweet about anything else.

The Category 3 storm is the first major hurricane to hit Texas in nearly nine years. It has been labeled by forecasters as a "life-threatening storm," which could bring up to three feet of rain, 125 mph winds and 12-foot storm surges.

"To the president, the only thing that he should be talking about, the only thing that he should be tweeting about until this storm is out of the way, are the people of this region and the response to this looming disaster," McDowell said on "Outnumbered" on Friday. "That is the only thing that should be under discussion."

She noted that former President Barack Obama delivered a statement on ISIS' brutal murder of James Foley, and then went right back to the golf course.

"It just seemed so callous," McDowell said. "President Trump should say nothing but sending messages of concern and support to these people until this storm is out of the way."
