U.S. intelligence officials are examining a new video from the Islamic State which purports to show a 10-year-old American boy who has joined their cause.

"This battle is not going to end in Raqqa or Mosul. It’s going to end in your lands," the boy warned on the tape.

He stated that his name is Yusuf and that he arrived in Syria two years ago from the United States with his mother. 

The boy claims to be the son of a U.S. soldier who was deployed to Iraq and calls President Trump "the puppet of the Jews." The boy spoke fluent English on the tape.

Former Navy SEAL Dave Sears, a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, said ISIS is attempting to "stoke fears" in the United States on the heels of the van attack in Barcelona, Spain last week. 

He said the fact that ISIS can still produce these videos, despite battlefield losses in Iraq and Syria, shows the group has a "very resilient infrastructure."

Sears said ISIS remains intent on moving beyond Syria, Iraq and Libya and striking Western nations by radicalizing followers via the internet and social media. 

"As we pressure that balloon, it's going to blow out in other places," he said.
