Schlapp on Scaramucci Firing: WH Work 'Not About You, It's About the American People'
Republican strategist Mercedes Schlapp reacted to the reported firing of White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci.
Schlapp said that while working for President Bush, her chief of staff, Andrew Card, reminded her colleagues that working for the president is "all about humility."
"It is about serving the American people and this president," Schlapp said.
She said that if a communications director or chief of staff finds themselves to be "too important" then there is "no room for you in the White House."
John Roberts reported that Trump Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly likely requested to "clear the decks" as he takes his new position.
Over the weekend, prominent religious conservative leader Robert van der Plaats tweeted that President Trump "must model and demand a higher standard."
