Huckabee: Special Counsel in Russia Probe Could Be a 'Gift' for Trump
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said today there is no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and until such evidence emerges, President Trump must ignore the issue.
Instead, the president should focus on his foreign trip which is now underway, cutting taxes, and fixing Obamacare, the former governor advised on "Outnumbered."
He said Trump must show Democrats that the Russia investigation is "water off a duck's back" to him and stop commenting on it.
"He needs to be the happy warrior. He needs to be Reagan not Nixon," said Huckabee.
Huckabee added that during the campaign, he and other advisers told Trump to avoid talking about himself and focusing on "what's happening" to voters.
He said the appointment of a special counsel in the FBI investigation is actually "a gift," since now Trump can simply refuse to answer questions due to the ongoing probe.
