National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster held a press conference at the White House on Tuesday to address a bombshell report that President Trump disclosed sensitive information to Russian officials.

McMaster doubled down on his statement yesterday that the premise of the report was false and what Trump discussed in the meeting was "wholly appropriate."

McMaster said he was in the room when the meeting took place and no one present felt the conversation was inappropriate.

"The president in no way compromised any sources or methods in the course of this conversation,” he said.

"The president wasn’t even aware of where this information came from,” McMaster added. “He wasn’t briefed on the source."

He also took aim at the leakers who revealed the contents of the discussion to The Washington Post.

“I think the real issue and what I would like to see debated more is that our national security has been put at risk by those violating confidentiality," McMaster said. "I think national security is put at risk by this leak and leaks like this."
