A congressman who once shouted "you lie!" at President Barack Obama had the same words chanted back at him at a town hall event.

Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) faced constituents Monday night, some of whom were anxious about Republicans' plan to repeal and replace ObamaCare.

The Post and Courier reported that Wilson was drowned out by the rowdy crowd at numerous times during the 40-minute session.

One of the loudest responses came during a question on domestic violence when Wilson maintained he would work with the solicitor general to "make sure that violence against women is fully enforced."

The paper noted that Wilson voted against a re-authorization of the Violence Against Women Act in 2013

Republicans are still looking to move forward with a new plan after the American Health Care Act, supported by President Trump and Speaker Paul Ryan, did not garner enough support to be brought up for a vote last month.

Wilson was expected to vote in favor of the bill.

Wilson gained national attention in 2009 when he shouted his skepticism at then-President Obama during a joint address to Congress on health care reform.
