A parolee-at-large in Lancaster, Calif., learned the hard way that you should never run from police.

A dramatic video shows the moment a police officer tackled a suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon.

According to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, 49-year-old Danny L. Reeder evaded police for more than an hour on Tuesday.

During a high-speed chase through the desert, a patrol car sent the suspect's SUV spinning out of control into a dirt bank. The man then began sprinting away from officers.

One officer chased down the suspect and delivered the bone-crushing hit from behind.
