Dramatic video footage shows the moment a truck went airborne during a high-speed police chase in Webster Parish, La.

According to KSLA, police said 18-year-old Kevonte Dekorey Austin led officers on a wild chase Tuesday afternoon.

Austin, an escaped work-release participant, was the passenger in a pickup truck as police pulled over the vehicle for speeding.

As the deputy spoke to the driver outside the truck, Austin slipped into the driver's seat and sped off, reaching speeds up to 115 mph.

He lost control of the vehicle and went airborne, landing on another car parked at a restaurant. There was a person in that car who escaped unhurt by climbing out a passenger door.

Police said Austin was taken back into custody.
