Trump Tweets That He Will Be Skipping White House Correspondents' Dinner
President Donald Trump tweeted Saturday that he will not be attending the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner on April 29.
I will not be attending the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner this year. Please wish everyone well and have a great evening!

"Fox News Sunday" anchor Chris Wallace joined "Fox & Friends Weekend" Sunday to discuss the president's decision to miss the dinner.
Attending the dinner has been a presidential tradition since it began in the 1920s, Wallace said.
The last president to miss the dinner was Ronald Reagan in 1981 -- soon after he was shot in an assassination attempt. Reagan was still able to call in however.
Wallace said Trump need allies in Washington so it would have been a good decision to attend.
"You never know who you're gonna need and when you're gonna need them," Wallace said. "I'm not sure I quite understand the wisdom of setting up these barriers."
