Marcus Luttrell, the U.S. Navy SEAL known for being portrayed as "The Lone Survivor", spoke about fallen SEAL Ryan Owens who was killed last week in Yemen.

Luttrell said Owens was on his 12th deployment with the SEALs.

"He put the work in," he said, "He came in right after us, made it all the way up to Dev Group, chief."

He said Owens became one of the SEALs that others would follow almost anywhere.

"That's what they were doing," he said, "A couple of other guys got hit [during the mission] but I've heard they're doing well."

Owens, 36, of Illinois, became the first U.S. military casualty during Donald J. Trump's presidency.
