In an interview with Fox Business Network's Maria Bartiromo today, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) said that President Donald Trump “believes he was elected as a dictator.”

She pointed to a pair of tweets from Trump, in which he slammed Democratic Party leadership and said they "should be ashamed of themselves" for the slow pace of confirming his Cabinet nominees.

She said those tweets are "very interesting" and "telling."

"It shows that he believes that he was elected as a dictator,” Wasserman Schultz said. “There is an advise and consent role for the United States Senate, and that is what they are doing. He doesn’t just get to have his nominations rubber-stamped.”

She argued that Democrats aren't engaging in "obstructionism," but instead merely making sure there is a check on the president, as the Founding Fathers intended.
