A majority of Americans believe that fake news is hurting the nation, according to a new Fox News poll.

61 percent of those polled said they were "very" concerned about fake news, while 23 percent were "somewhat" concerned.

Only 15 percent weren't concerned about the phenomenon.

The poll also found that that despite concern about fake news, 79 percent of those polled are confident they can tell real news from fake news.

That includes 42 percent who are “very” confident they can tell the difference.

The Fox News poll was based on landline and cell phone interviews with 1,006 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide
