Judge Judith Sheindlin, star of the courtroom television series "Judge Judy," spoke out against President Barack Obama's decision to commute the prison sentence of Chelsea Manning in the waning days of his presidency.

"I didn't think it was a wise judgment," the judge told a TMZ reporter.

Manning, a transgendered woman formerly known as Bradley Manning, was a U.S. Army private imprisoned for leaking sensitive information to WikiLeaks.

Obama made the announcement Tuesday that he would be commuting Manning's 35-year prison sentence.

Manning will now be released as early as May 17.
