The Senate began its confirmation hearings this morning for Secretary of State nominee Rex Tillerson.

The former Exxon CEO has faced criticism for his past business ties to Russia, but he was also disrupted several times by protesters.

The hearing for attorney general nominee Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) was interrupted numerous times Tuesday by protesters who accused him of racism.

At one point today, Tillerson was interrupted by an older woman with a "Reject Rexx" banner. She shouted that Exxon is endangering future generations by drilling and "burning" the Arctic.

"Please don't put Exxon in charge of the State Department!" she yelled.

The woman was escorted out by an officer and a second protester got up moments later.
