A police vehicle in Tulsa, Okla., was stolen as the officers investigated a carjacking.

Police said several armed suspects carjacked a driver around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night. A chase ensued, and police detained 25-year-old Cody Rose.

The officers then experienced car trouble and pulled over in a parking lot. At that time, Rose managed to get one of his hands free, escaped from the back of the car and drove off with the other police patrol car.

Police found the abandoned vehicle crashed into a ditch along the Osage Prairie Jogging Trail.

They soon tracked down Rose and arrested him on multiple charges. His bail is set for over $85,000.

Police said two other suspects in the initial carjacking are still at large.
