LOOK: 50-Pound Dumbbell Crashes Through Windshield On NJ Turnpike
A 75-year-old man was critically injured Monday morning after a 50-pound dumbbell came crashing through his windshield as he drove on the New Jersey Turnpike.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was driving southbound in Oldmans Township, N.J. when the massive weight smashed his windshield.
The key traffic artery was closed in both directions as police investigated the incident, WTXF reported.
Although there is an overpass near the site of the incident, investigators do not know whether the item was dropped on the man's car, or fell off another vehicle.

The driver was airlifted to Crozer Medical Center in Chester, Pa. where he was in critical condition as of Monday evening.
Oldmans is about 10 miles northeast of Wilmington, Del.
