4 Suspects in Facebook Live Beating Face Hate Crime Charges
The four people who allegedly live streamed themselves tying up and torturing a mentally handicapped man while yelling “F*** Donald Trump” and “F*** white people” have been charged with multiple felonies.
In a press conference, Chicago police officials said that Jordan Hill, Tesfaye Cooper, Brittany Covington and Tanishia Covington were arrested Wednesday and have been charged with aggravated kidnapping, hate crimes, aggravated unlawful restraint and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Brittany and Tanishia Covington also face charges of residential burglary. Hill also faces charges of robbery and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
Officials said the assaults were apparently carried out over a two-day period on Sunday and Monday.
The suspects are set to appear in court on Friday.
