Two social media videos show a Philadelphia police officer punching a teenage girl repeatedly during a street brawl Monday.

According to police, a large brawl involving as many as 30 people broke out in the southwest section of the city.

The female officer has been put on administrative leave and removed from street duty as the Internal Affairs investigation is completed. 

The 16-year-old, meanwhile, told police after the fight that she slapped the officer during the altercation.

A police spokesman said recommendations have been passed along to the district attorney that the girl be charged with assault of an officer and disorderly conduct.

The teen's legal guardian told NBC Philadelphia that the girl's mother died a few weeks ago.
