Thousands are calling on Hunter College to remove a professor who was involved in an incident last week at JFK Airport in which Ivanka Trump was reportedly berated in front of her family.

The president-elect's oldest daughter was traveling with her husband and three children last Thursday when she was harassed by a fellow passenger who was irate over her father.

According to reports, Professor Matt Lasner's husband - holding a child of his own - began ranting at Mrs. Trump and told her that her father was "ruining the country."

Lasner and Dan Goldstein were removed from the JetBlue flight before takeoff.

Nearly 7,000 people have now signed a petition calling on the public New York City college to fire Lasner, an urban studies and planning professor.

Lasner tweeted before boarding the flight that the Trump family was in the terminal and that his husband was going to "harass" them.

He later deleted the tweet, along with his Twitter account. The petition calls out Lasner specifically for attempting to cover his tracks.

"The fact that he tried to cover up and change the story around to avoid the consequences of his actions is also a testament to his character. He is NOT a good example for our youth," read the petition, which was posted by a group called Right Wing Millennials.

Lasner's Hunter College faculty bio page has been taken down.
