Meghan McCain suggested to Democrats that they might want to try something new in four years.

The "Outnumbered" hosts went back and forth this afternoon on a new poll of Democrats and independents that asked whether Hillary Clinton should run for president in 2020.

Surprisingly, 23 percent of respondents said they would be "excited" about Clinton's third run at the White House.

McCain said she was shocked that this question is even being asked following the Democrats' heavy losses in November.

"What are you gonna do? Prop her up like 'Weekend at Bernie's' and just run her every election cycle?" she asked.

McCain added that she's "completely blown away" that anyone would support a third run by the former secretary of state.

America is "over" the Clintons, she concluded.

Gillian Turner agreed, suggesting that President Obama spend the next few years working on mentoring and nurturing a new generation of Democratic candidates.

Turner said she was under the impression that it was "beyond over" for Clinton's White House prospects.
