Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a longtime Bill and Hillary Clinton ally, revealed Thursday that his family’s pet chicken "Hillary" died right before the presidential election.
During an interview with The Atlantic, McAuliffe was asked how his families four chickens were doing.
“I hate to say this, one chicken died,” he said. “About a month before the election, Hillary died.”
“We’ve got Hillary Jr. now,” he said. “She is bright and fluffy and making a lot of noise and healthy as an ox.”
The Richmond-Times Dispatch reported in June that McAuliffe's son and daughter named the family's chickens.
The other three were named Dolly, Snape and Camo.
