Century-Old L.L. Bean Boots Making Fashion Comeback for Holidays
The hottest new fashion trend among boot-wearers is a more than 100-year-old product.
L.L Bean Inc. has experienced a holiday surge in sales for its iconic Bean Boot, originally designed by company founder Leon Leonwood Bean.
Fox News correspondent Molly Line joined Jenna Lee Thursday on Happening Now with a report from L.L. Bean's headquarters in Freeport, Maine, amid the resurgence in the boots' popularity.
According to L.L. Bean director of manufacturing Donna Lamberth, the demand for the classic boots has increased six-fold over the past decade from 100,000 10 years ago to more than 600,000 this year.
"Into the future in 2018, we will make as many as a million boots a year," Lamberth said.
The company is working 24 hours a day six days a week to fill this year's holiday orders.
