Malkin: Liberal Media's Manufactured Narratives Are the Definition of Fake News

Should President-elect Donald Trump continue using his Twitter account once he takes office?

On Fox & Friends Tuesday, host Steve Doocy discussed the issue with Bre Payton, a staff writer for The Federalist, who believes Trump should keep tweeting.

"[Trump] is completely right that the media covers him unfairly and the reason why he does have to tweet is because their coverage is so unfair," Payton said, adding she "loves it" when Trump tweets.

Payton said the coverage has become "ridiculous" and "skewed" and in her opinion is "carrying water for the liberal elites."

"I think the reason why the media gets so upset with Donald Trump's tweets is because they have this attitude that they need to tell the American electorate what to believe," she said. "They have this attitude that Americans are a bunch of knuckle-dragging losers who don't know what's good for them and need to be told."

Former Vice President Dick Cheney recently said Trump's use of Twitter is his "way around the press." Payton responded that she views Trump's Twitter tactics as a "democratization of the news."

"This attitude that the media is just this wholly, perfect, objective entity all the time and that the American people are completely reliant upon them to know what's good for them is really just quite false," she said.
