It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas - for man and beast alike!

The St. Mary's County Sheriff Office in Maryland received a call Monday of a beaver on the loose in a dollar store. The beaver apparently did not give a "dam" as it proceeded to knock holiday items off several shelves, according to witnesses at the Dollar General store in Charlotte Hall, Md.

The office shared photos of the incident on Twitter.

The sheriff's office said the beaver walked in through the front door, after which store employees called animal control. Officials said the beaver was safely captured and released to a wildlife rehabilitation facility.

Now that it's December, it looks like even our furry friends know it's time to get a jump on holiday shopping.
