Trump After Election Victory: 'It Is Time for Us to Come Together'

Stunned Democrats React to Trump's Presidential Election Victory

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan says that Donald Trump's victory in the 2016 presidential election is the most incredible political feat he has seen in his lifetime.

During a press conference in Janesville, Wisconsin, Wednesday, Ryan said a majority of Americans don't feel like their voices are heard and don't feel like they are represented by those in office.

"But Donald Trump heard a voice out in this country that no one else heard," Ryan said. "He connected in ways with people no one else did."

"He turned politics on its head."

Ryan said that as commander-in-chief, Trump will lead a unified Republican government, with both the House and Senate under GOP control.

"We will work hand-in-hand on a positive agenda to tackle this country's big challenges," Ryan said. "We will honor the timeless principles that our country was founded on: liberty, freedom, free enterprise, consent of the governed, and we will apply those principles to the problems of the day."
