UPDATE, 2:40am ET: Donald Trump has won Pennsylvania and with it, has been elected the 45th President of the United States.

UPDATE: Trump holds a slight lead, but the race remains too close to call at 1am ET. Sen. Pat Toomey (R) has won re-election.

The polls have closed in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania, where 20 electoral votes are at stake. 

Pennsylvania voters have chosen the electoral vote winner in the last five presidential elections:

2000: Albert Gore Jr.
1996: Bill Clinton

The latest polling average in Pennsylvania showed Hillary Clinton leading by 2 points heading into Election Day.
