'Clinton Cash' Author Calls for 'Major IRS Investigation' of Clinton Foundation
A shocking revelation to emerge from the latest cache of WikiLeaks emails is that Clinton Foundation resources were apparently used to pay for Chelsea Clinton's 2010 wedding.
"Clinton Cash" author Peter Schweizer said on "Fox & Friends" this morning that this is just more evidence that the Clinton Foundation is not a legitimate charity.
He explained that this new allegation about the foundation is based on an email written by Bill Clinton's right hand man, Doug Band.
Band wrote to future Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta about "the investigation into [Chelsea] getting paid for campaigning, using foundation resources for her wedding and life for a decade, taxes on money from her parents."
"I hope that you will speak to her and end this... Once we go down this road..."
Schweizer cited internal reviews of the Clinton Foundation by outside law firms and entities, saying that the charity was deemed a "political operation."
He added that the blurring of those lines meant that Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton and others could monetize their relationship to the foundation.
"If nothing else, there needs to be a major IRS investigation," Schweizer said.
He noted that the IRS has become too politicized and the Clintons too powerful, so he called for a special prosecutor or independent counsel to look into the Clinton Foundation.
