WATCH: Tim Tebow Talks to Megyn Kelly About Pursuit of Baseball Career
Tim Tebow has had a roller coaster ride in his athletic career, which started in Denver, where he played quarterback for the Broncos, and also included stints with the New York Jets, New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.
In 2016, he earned a spot playing in the MLB's Instructional League for the New York Mets, after holding a tryout for all of Major League teams.
"Baseball was something I did my whole life," Tebow said, adding that he chose to go to the University of Florida because "my mom wanted me to get an education."
"When football didn't necessarily pan out...baseball was always with me.
Tebow said his new book, "Shaken", is about "getting through failures--about handling lows."
"I've been blessed to go through some highs, but I think going through the lows is something I feel so thankful for," Tebow said, "It really gives me the opportunity to relate to a lot of people--that's what the book is written for."
He said he hopes to "encourage [readers] that their life matters and that they're important. [I'm writing] to young people to encourage them...when you're doing something for the fun of it--for th passion for it...success is doing something that I want to do every day."
