"I think it's the center of Donald Trump's appeal," vice presidential candidate Gov. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) said of Donald Trump's battle with what he labels as the "rigged" mainstream media.

"They know that when he becomes president of the United States, he's going to get up every day and fight for the American people," Pence said on Hannity.

Pence reiterated Trump's promise that his "only special interest will be [the citizens] and I think that's the reason you're seeing Republicans, Democrats and Independents rallying around the cause."

"When you have reporters checking with Hillary's campaign chairman [John Podesta], this is the rigged system [that is] benefiting the favored Washington."

Pence added that he wants to see Republicans who have soured on their nominee's candidacy "come home" and vote for the ticket, to defeat Clinton.

"We've got support from independents and we've got support from many Democrats, but as you've said it's time for Republicans to come home and come together--elect Donald Trump [and] reelect Republican majorities in the House and Senate and turn this country around."
