Fiery O'Malley: 'Lincoln Rolled Over in Grave' With 'Fascist Threat' Trump in Gettysburg
Former Democratic presidential candidate and former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley joined Fox & Friends to discuss the presidential election.
An email discussion between O'Malley and Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta was uncovered in the latest WikiLeaks dump, which showed, after Podesta asked for O'Malley to support Clinton, the former Baltimore mayor said that "politicians have rigged the economic opportunity game against" the public.
Tucker Carlson pointed out the similarity between that statement and one of Donald Trump's campaign themes, in which he describes the 'system' as "rigged".
O'Malley disagreed, saying that "the solutions Hillary Clinton is offering [include] returning to common sense wage...policies, affordable college and [making] those at the very top, like Donald Trump...pay their fair share."
Asked about whether the Democratic primary was "rigged" for Clinton, the governor said he "made it clear at the time" that he disagreed with the "limited number of debates."
"Donald Trump is living proof the system is broken," O'Malley said.
"It's ironic [Trump visited] Gettysburg: Lincoln would be rolling over in his grave to hear the sort of things Donald Trump has done--the guy talks about corruption and accountability and he's the first president[ial candidate] not to release his tax returns," O'Malley said, calling the New Yorker a "fascist threat".
"He talks about giving religious ID cards for Muslim-Americans...and mass deportation," he said, characterizing some of Trump's platform as "white militant nationalism."
"He doesn't have the [...] to talk about the wall when he's in Texas," O'Malley said.
