DNC Chair on Wall St Speeches: The Issue Here is 'Cyber Crime'
Democratic National Committee Interim Chairwoman Donna Brazile joined Bret Baier on Special Report to discuss details of Hillary Clinton's Wall Street speeches leaked through apparently hacked emails.
Brazile, who took over for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) after an earlier DNC hack at the time of the conventions, said the point of the hacked speech information was not the contents of what Clinton told the financial firms, but the fact the information was likely obtained illegally.
"The Democratic National Committee announced that we were the victims of cyber crime," Brazile said, "the media spent their entire focus on the emails that were released."
"Our job...is to ensure that we protect the...sanctity of our electoral process--If it's postmarked from Russia...I'm not in the business of opening it up to corrupt our system any further."
Baier pressed Brazile to disclose whether the DNC will release the full transcripts of speeches Clinton made, some contents of which differ from positions she has taken publicly.
"The reason why we know that Secretary Clinton gave these speeches in the first place is because she released...her taxes," Brazile responded, adding that Republican Donald Trump should release his.
"I'm not familiar with who has what," she said. "This is not about partisanship, this is about country,"
