Herman Cain said on "Fox & Friends" this morning that Donald Trump should not release his tax returns because it will just give "nitpickers" the opportunity to distract from his success on the campaign trail.

"They keep bringing it up. That's all they have," Cain said, explaining that the Republican nominee's detractors will scour the tax returns for anything to push their "anti-Trump message."

Cain said that Trump's extensive, 92-page financial disclosure form is sufficient for anyone who wants more information about his finances.

"They are looking for something to turn into a story. That's why I wouldn't give it to them. Let them continue to complain about it."
