Heartbreaking video shows a two-year-old girl crying as her mother lies unconscious in an aisle at a Family Dollar store in Massachusetts.

WDTN reported that police say the woman apparently overdosed on an oral version of heroin or an opiate-based narcotic like fentanyl.

The video shows the toddler screaming and tugging at her mother's limp body.

The woman was reportedly only revived after being given two doses of narcan, a powerful opiate antidote.

Authorities said she's lucky to be alive, and they plan to charge her with child endangerment.

“It’s very, very disturbing to see someone obviously in the matter of addiction, where it overtakes someone to the point where they’re not able to take care of their child, leaves their child vulnerable,” says Lawrence Police Chief James Fitzpatrick.

Police wanted the video to be public as a warning about the dangers of drug abuse and addiction.
