Trump on Debate Prep: ‘I’ll Treat Hillary With Respect’ If She Does The Same
Monday on The O’Reilly Factor, Bill O’Reilly projected that the first of three upcoming presidential debates will be “probably the most-watched debate in the history of the country.”
Donald Trump gave insight on how he plans to approach Monday’s event in Hempstead, New York.
“If [Hillary] treats me with respect, I’ll treat her with resepect,” he said.
O’Reilly asked if Trump would allow himself to be ‘baited’ by Clinton into making an off-color remark or saying something controversial.
“She can bait me and I can bait her, and we’ll see what happens. [If she does] I can talk about her deleting emails after receiving a subpoena from Congress. We’re going to go back and forth. She’s got a lot of baggage,” Trump said.
“When she talks about what she’s planning to do, [I’ll say] why hasn’t she done that in the last 30 years.”
Trump also said that his critics on the left will “go after” moderator Lester Holt if he does not aggressively question him.
“I have respect for Lester,” he said.
Trump also responded to what he called a “dishonest” story on the New York Times’ front page that alleged a series of events during which the candidate had acted in an offensive way toward women.
