Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu appeared on "Sunday Morning Futures" to react to Donald Trump's big immigration speech.

Babeu said that securing the border is a "national security issue," and he's glad to see that Trump is making it a top priority.

"All Americans should agree we need to secure our sovereign border," Babeu said, adding that actually enforcing our nation's immigration laws is even more important than building a wall.

He said that after the border is secure, then we can pivot to the millions of people who are already in the U.S. illegally.

"Focus on the violent criminal illegals - which is a small minority of that large group - and get them out of this country never to return again," Babeu said. "That's where all of us should agree."

He said that President Obama, however, doesn't seem to agree with that and has released tens of thousands of these violent illegal immigrant criminals.

"We should have a right to determine who comes into our country. And legally."
