Election HQ ‘Crisis of Confidence’ Coming? FBI Probes Hack of 2 States’ Election Systems
The recent release of FBI documents contained a bombshell report that two states’ electoral voting systems were likely hacked.
As Catherine Herridge reported on Your World, the four-page bulletin sent to state election officials by the FBI said that foreign hackers had targeted voting systems in Illinois and a second state, which may have been Arizona.
The documents were first obtained by Yahoo, and later independently verified by Fox News, Herridge told Stuart Varney.
Hackers used available software to scan board of election websites, and some voter data in those two states were successfully stolen, Herridge said.
Chad Sweet, a former Homeland Security official, told Herridge that “if we happened to have a razor-thin election, and there’s any question of even a small number of votes, that could cause a crisis of confidence in the entire electoral process.”
