New Report: Anthony Weiner Sexted Woman with Young Son Next to Him

'We're in Shock': Streisand Says She'll Leave U.S. If Trump Wins Election

After new revelations that former New York Congressman Anthony Weiner engaged in “sexting” with a divorced woman on the West Coast—the third time he has been caught in similar circumstances—his wife announced she will be separating from the onetime mayoral hopeful.

As Jenna Lee reported on Happening Now, Weiner’s wife Huma Abedin released a statement Monday morning that reads:

“After long and painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband.

Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what is best for our son, who is the light of our life.

During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy.”

Abedin is one of Hillary Clinton’s closest advisors and is regularly seen at the Democratic presidential nominee’s side as she travels the country.

Clinton's opponent, Donald Trump reacted to the news in a statement, Greta Van Susteren reported:

This is not the first time Abedin has been witness to Weiner’s extracurricular activities.

Weiner was forced to resign from Congress after his first public sexting scandal.

The second time, he and Abedin were being chronicled for the documentary “Weiner” during his 2013 mayoral campaign, when he was infamously outed as explicit messenger “Carlos Danger.”

At the time, Abedin spoke at a press conference in New York saying that she would stand by Weiner:

Weiner and Abedin have one son, Jordan Z. Weiner.
