Sometimes inexplicable things happen in the animal kingdom...

A woman in Russia is telling an incredible story about the amazing bond formed between her cat and an abandoned squirrel monkey.

Tatiana Antropova, director of a zoo in Tyumen, Russia, said she brought the baby monkey home with her when its mother refused to carry him on her back.

Without his mother's care, the monkey would not have survived, she explained.

Antropova said she was amazed when her 16-year-old house cat, Rosinka, immediately began to care for the monkey as if it were her own.

Fedor is doing well, clinging to his new mom, who did not have kittens of her own previously.

Antropova told Press TV that the bond occurred "very naturally" and that Fedor lies on top of his "mom" constantly and sleeps there.
