Siri, Can You Hear Me? Barbra Streisand Calls Apple CEO After App Botches Name
Songstress Barbra Streisand was not happy with her iPhone’s voice-command function routinely mispronouncing her name.
"Siri", as the app's female voice is called, kept saying "Strei-zand", which the singer took exception to.
“[It’s] Streisand with a soft s,” Streisand told NPR, “Like sand on a beach.”
So, Streisand reached out to Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Cook told her he would promptly program the change for the app’s next update on September 30.
"So let's see if that happens because I will be thrilled," she said.
The Brooklyn-born singer is currently promoting her new duet album, “Encore, Movie Partners Sing on Broadway.”
