Trump on 'Hannity' Town Hall: We're Fighting a 'Politically Correct War' on ISIS

Peters on Gitmo Release: 'Lincoln Freed the Slaves, Obama Freed the Terrorists'

A so-called #NeverTrump presidential candidate said this morning on America's Newsroom that Hillary Clinton must be defeated, but instead Donald Trump's campaign is "imploding."

Evan McMullin, a former CIA officer and former chief policy director for the House Republican Conference, launched an independent bid for the White House a week ago.

He is attempting to galvanize the support of conservatives who are unhappy with the choice between Trump and Clinton.

McMullin argued that the national conversation is not focused on the "corruption" of Hillary Clinton, potentially allowing her to "waltz right into the White House" in November to continue President Obama's policies.

"Donald Trump is failing miserably as a candidate. He's imploding, he's a train wreck. He's not going to get better. He cannot defeat Hillary Clinton," said McMullin, touting himself as "way more qualified" and prepared to take on Clinton.

Martha MacCallum brought up the fact that Trump has given some more substantive policy speeches in recent days, including one on Monday which Newt Gingrich hailed as "historic."

McMullin countered by slamming Trump's address on ISIS as "awful," arguing it was written by others and that Trump "knows nothing" about national security.

"Anybody can read a speech off a teleprompter about what to do. ... He's a waste of our time," he said.
