On "Special Report" tonight, Charles Krauthammer reacted to the "astonishing development" that Russian warplanes took off from a base in Iran to target Islamic State fighters and other militants in Syria.

Krauthammer said that this alliance between Iran and Russia is a demonstration of the "total bankruptcy and collapse" of President Obama's policy in the Middle East.

"The entire northern part of the Middle East is now under an Iranian-Russian condominium, because this administration, in its naiveté, has allowed Russia and Iran to progress with no resistance and with nothing on our side," Krauthammer said.

He added that the involvement of Hezbollah makes it an even more "powerful coalition."

"The Arabs are defenseless without us, and we are nowhere to be seen."
