A harrowing road rage shooting was caught on tape by a driver's dash cam video in Santa Clarita, California.

In the video above, released by police Wednesday in the hope of identifying the shooter, a man in a dark gray Honda Civic fires two shots at a white SUV which had a family of four inside.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20-30 years old, with a goatee.

The male victim told KABC that his wife was behind the wheel. His wife's mother and their 13-year-old son were also inside the vehicle.

The shots struck the SUV's front tire, so the woman slowed down and the gunman sped off.

The man said that the gunman was apparently upset that his wife turned on the windshield spray and got his car wet.

The man described the terrifying moment that his son noticed the man pointing a gun at them.

"He said he's got a gun. And I look over and the guy's got this gun sticking out of his window pointed at us. And the next thing I hear are two loud bangs as the gun went off," he said.
