Fiery Mother of Slain Woman Has Powerful Message for Daughter's 'Coward' Attacker
(WARNING: Graphic language)
The mother of a New York City woman who was strangled and sexually assaulted last week had some chilling words for her daughter's fugitive killer.
In an emotional, profane press conference, Cathy Vetrano declared that her daughter, Karina Vetrano, was a "force to be reckoned with," promising that the "coward" who killed her will be brought to justice.
"I'm here to remind you, in case you don't already know, that now it's the whole entire world against you," the grieving mother said. "The whole world knows what a pathetic, puny, weak piece of filth that you are. The whole world knows that and soon they're all gonna know your face."
30-year-old Karina was raped and murdered during her nightly jog through a local park last Tuesday. Her father, Philip Vetrano, found her body in a marshy area near a jogging path several hours after she failed to return home.
Police are currently awaiting the results of tests on DNA evidence found at the scene, and they are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
