A Pennsylvania woman's wedding day was made by the man who had received her father's heart a decade ago.

Jeni Stepien's father, Michael, was shot and killed in 2006, FOX 29 reported. The family decided to take him off life support and donate his organs.

A New Jersey man named Arthur Thomas, who was close to death at the time, was saved by a transplant using Stepien's heart.

On Saturday, Thomas traveled to Pennsylvania to walk Jeni down the aisle. He made the trip after receiving a heartfelt letter from Jeni.

"What greater honor could a person have than walking the daughter of the man who's given his heart to him? I can't imagine a greater honor,” Thomas said.

He explained that Jeni felt her father's heartbeat in an emotional moment for everyone before the big day.

Jeni called it "the best day ever" to know her father was there in spirit with them.
